Building girls with autism to be empowered through social skills and education.
Vision Statement
To empower and educate pre-teen and teen girls with autism in underprivileged areas or in foster care the opportunity to obtain social skills and interactions, life skills, self advocacy, small group counseling and COVID education and resources.
All About Our Organization
In working with youth, Ms. Casey Williams started Sugar & Spice Children's Entertainment to provide pageants in the Southern Sector of Dallas and Dallas Urban Kids to provide modeling and etiquette classes at local recreation centers.
Ms. Williams founded MMYGD, Inc. in 2019 to fulfill the need of empowerment and help for underprivileged youth. With the help of the 2019-2020 Board Mae Williams Jackson, Darkesha Mitchell, and Tamara Ford the organization was able to help close to 1000 youth and families locally and nationwide through community service, food, virtual workshops, in person classes for youth, Back to School Events, photo shoot, and St. Nick's Christmas Giveaway.
MMYGD, Inc. has partnered with a number of local agencies to provide to children in the community.
MMYGD, Inc. has received a number of donations from private and public donors.
Covid-19 had a great impact on the organization and there began to be a growing need of activities for children on the Autism Spectrum. Ms. Williams, along with the 2021 Board, are refreshing the organization with rebranding, new mission, new vision and new programs.
Ms. Casey Williams, Founder and Executive Director: filled with a passion for service youth in underserved areas, Ms. Williams grew up in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas. Ms. Williams has three daughters. At the age of 10, one of her daughters was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Since then she has strived to be the best advocate for her daughter. Ms. Williams has participated on the Parent Board at Head Start of Greater Dallas, Inc. , Merrifield PTA Secretary of Duncanville ISD, Adelle Turner PTA Secretary of Dallas ISD, Girls Scout Troop Leader, and Dallas ISD Volunteer Services. She holds a Business Degree and is a professional Human Resources Manager.
Mrs. Gwen Brigham, Board Director-Treasurer: an advocate for children all over Dallas, Mrs. Brigham has dedicated over twenty years in youth services, education, and volunteering. She has participated in various youth organizations through out Dallas. Mrs. Brigham is will hold the organization's finances accountable. She holds Certifications from Texas A&M Commerce AgriLife Extension.
Mr. Daniel Brigham, Board Director- Secretary : an accomplished artist and art instructor, Mr. Brigham has volunteered with youth for nearly 30 years. He has previously volunteered as an art instructor with Dallas ISD, Dallas Parks and Recreation, and the City of Chicago. He holds an Art Degree.
Ms. Belinda Person, MSW, Advisory Board- Social Services: as a degreed social worker, Ms. Person has worked in the social services industry due to her passion to help those in the community. She also works with youth in basketball, at her church, and is an advocate for special needs students. She is currently employed as a Social Worker for a local Social Services agency. Ms. Person will provide a wealth of resources and referrals to the girls in the program and their families.
Ms. Latasha Bacon, CNA, Medical Assistant, Notary, Officiant, Advisory Board- Medical Services: Ms. Bacon has a passion to help youth with special abilities. She will provide various medical resources and referrals to the girls in the program and their families.
Deacon Gregory Johns, Advisory Board- Event Services: Deacon Johns has always provided assistance and food donations to the underprivileged communities of Dallas and Fort Worth. He is the owner of a food service company and serves as the Deacon of his church. He will provide event services such as facility locations, event coordination and assistance to the overall nonprofit.
